Dear Governor,
Members of the Vorarlberg governing body
Thank you for choosing Starchitect-Global Vision Inc. as your main consulting firm for the project “Vorarlberg 2020″. Your commitment to the renewal of the Rheintal area seems to us as the right step in accordance with global trends. With urban generations from the turn of the twentieth century picking up into the twentyt first century, economists forecast that globalization and the powers of multi-national corporations would shift the balance of power away from nation states towards individual cities/counties/areas, which would then compete with neighboring cities/counties/areas and cities/counties/areas elsewhere for the most lucrative modern industries, and which increasingly in major Western Europe and US cities did not include manufacturing. Thus cities/counties/areas set about ‘reinventing themselves’, should give precedence to the value given by culture. By building new structures, in the “wow-factor” architecture global style, municipalities and non-profit organizations can drive traffic and tourist income to their new facilities/communities.

The Future Passage
Proposal for “Vorarlberg 2020″
The Future-Passage is a series of buildings/structures that will connect the Rheintal area through landmark architecture, starting in the city of Feldkirch all the way to the Lake of Constance. The idea is to create a “road” that one can go through either by car, train or bicycle, simulating a similar experience to driving through the wineries of Bordeaux or California. The “road” should cross between rural and urban areas, allowing a visitor to explore both the green county and the vibrant cities and villages of Vorarlberg.

The Future-Passage point of departure:
The Snow Experience - a museum, a recreation area, an interactive facility.
The building will be situated up on the hill overlooking the city of Feldkirch. The shape of a snowflake will inspire the building’s design. On the top of the building’s roof a snow-manufacturing machine will produce snow also in summer creating the effect of a permanent winter over the museum area.
*Permanent winter sport exhibit.
*Virtual ski simulation training.
*Interactive avalanche adventure room.
*Science room - the origin of snow, the mountains, etc.

One Solution Kit
We have one suitcase with one solution kit; one size fits all. The space we encounter is always a blank space; weather, materials, local traditions or landscapes are of secondary importance. We occupy a place, any place, with the same sets of rules. The spaces we create are magazines friendly; they are there to be exhibit, to show off, to represent the international style of our virtual global village.How to use The Kit:
Take a model
Find an empty spot on the map of your city/area
Put the model on
Name a star architect
Give the building a cultural function
Your work is done
(Side note: don’t worry, other buildings will follow… business towers, shopping malls, hotels, and public housing. The kit is the key for growth; The kit is only the beginning…)

art, food, happy?
In Starchitect-Global Vision Inc. we believe in market research, we believe in asking the local residents for their opinion, their thoughts and their view. That is why we commissioned a video study of the mood and taste of the local crowd. Listening to the citizens, taking their opinion into account is what we do best.

Art, Food, Happy?
By a simple gesture, this work migrates the “small talk” discussion about culture into the work it self, and presents the viewers with another group of viewers, attending another culture event. What ART are we consuming, which kind of FOOD are we ordering, and does it all make us HAPPY - are the three questions posed to a group of “culture” volunteers, one night at Bregenz, Austria. Through editing, each answer is compared with it self, making us re- look at what actually makes us “cultured”….

Sonorama
Along the Rheintal area we propose to install sound booths similar to the old phone booths of past times. The sound booths, or Sonoramas, will feature authentic sounds from around the area. A visitor can go into the sound proof booth and listen while a panoramic view of the area screened in front of him/her. The Sonoramas should provide the listener with moments of acoustic purity, a perfect get away from the busy life outside.

the sound of buildings
Starchitect-Global Vision Inc. tested the sound of Vorarlberg buildings; the results show a distinct urban sound that is the effect of the materials used in construction. In 2020 we would like to use more warm materials employing the new building technologies. Changing the building’s structures will enable us to create a natural and friendly sound.
